Want To Know About Love? It's Complicated! (Love Part I)

The topic of Love is probably the most written about in the history of human kind. Most of us yearn to meet our Soulmate. On that discovery journey, we often lack confidence and need external validation before we commit to forever after. There are so many variations of relationships. I spoke about that in my previous blog: Relations. Here, I will share the astrological connections I look for between two lovers’ charts to grasp if the couple has a chance of surviving life’s challenges.
When will I attract my Soulmate? When will I find Love? Is this person the right partner for me? Will I ever have companionship in my life? What kind of man/woman is compatible with me? Why can’t I attract the right guy/girl? This affair is too good to be true! I can’t commit, what is wrong with me? I want a ring on my finger, will he ever propose?! We’ve gone through hell and back, and now you leave me!? Those are few of the many familiar questions I hear. You go girl! Girl Power! I don’t need a man in my life! is the latest I was solicited for. However, we know that when exasperated from feeling cornered in an unpleasant predicament over an extended period of time, we snap and overreact. Ultimately, we rejoin the middle way.
All of life revolves around partnership stories, whether we wish to admit it or not. We all want to be heard, seen, cherished and validated. We want to be loved, but go about it in different ways… We come with our unique baggage (mostly unconscious) and pre-programmed approaches to relating. We bring our wounds and projections to the table. That is what complicates the fundamental bonding needs that we, as a social specie, intrinsically carry in our DNA.
Meryl Streep is a Cancer and Alec Baldwin an Aries, conflicting temperaments, no wonder they did not get along!… in the movie “It’s Complicated”! Steve Martin and Meryl however have the same Ascendent in charismatic fiery Leo, and the same Venus and Mars (tastes and inclinations)! So they end up together, ha, ha… But it’s not that simple between the three of them, as Alec, Meryl and Steve have inciting Mars sparks... Just so you know, read on, because that is absolutely NOT how I interpret synastry :-)
Serious compatibility astrology involves in-depth study to give more than a glimpse of the potential of the pair’s resiliency. We all hear this: “Our Suns align, we must be compatible”... Don't be so sure! Good luck to you if your Moons are not in synch. Have you tried one’s Mars square the other’s Mars? There better be plenty hot astrological couple’s chemistry to compensate :-)
I work simultaneously with several chart combinations. Horoscopes next to each other (dual wheels), on top of each other (bi-wheels, one in the middle, the other around it and vice versa), grids, and composite/relationship images…
1- First I always engage in a thorough analysis of each of the two individual charts. If interested, read this blog on Interpretation.
2- Then, I evaluate how they mesh together, looking at the connections between planets and points of each chart, and where they fall in each other’s horoscopes, and how respective patterns lock into the other’s wheel.
3- Next, I examine the composite and/or relationship picture itself (different calculations of extra maps that represents the third entity, the association itself). The chart of the union does not have free will, so it is fascinating to see how it react to external planetary influences.
4- In addition, I examine how the signatures of each individual are reflected in the composite picture and that tells me who and how one is benefitting from the alliance or not.
5- Finally, if there is, I cast the horoscope of the wedding as well. That image will either support the endurance of the couple or not. It will also show how the wife or the husband are assisted by the marriage or not.
By the way, the wedding chart can be created ahead of time to optimize the resilience of the marriage. We elect an auspicious date and time that matches the character dynamics of the two individual birth charts. No an easy task! So far, it has worked for my husband and I :-) I was an astrologer before I was a wife and a mother. Trust me, astrology has guided us and continues to do so… 30 years later. I am still unearthing aspects of our personalities and learning how to maximize our adventure. It’s exciting to be on a perpetual journey of discovery!
Ethical astrology only lays out potential, not certainty. Who knows if psychics who predict are not putting us on one of many possible paths, deciding our fate for us? I choose to use my profession to the service of freedom, not entrapment. Humans have the liberty to choose how to react to situations or to be proactive, if we are so inclined to take responsibility for our venture. We all have free will but it certainly helps to better understand who we are before we commit to “happily ever after.”
Most of us are young and unaware of what we are made of when we first fall in love. If the partnership presents stumbling blocks, we have choices. The challenges can be of varying degrees and of course. If we are in danger, no matter the state of affairs, we must seek help to find our way to permanent safety. When the issues are not severe, we can either dig our heels and work through our problems, trusting the relationship is part of our growth or we may prefer to move on. If we do so, we’d better engage in introspection before we “fall in love” again and repeat, and often in a worse scenario because we did not transform ourselves first.
No matter our gender, sensual and sexual expressions, whether we are rich, poor, conservative or liberal in our values, accomplished or not, famous or anonymous, spiritual or not, we are all yearning to give and receive Love. Most of us long to feel secure in love. Astrology is an awesome tool to achieve clarity and trust. I am grateful to have it at my finger tips.
